The SurfySpider is a cable multi-tool, a multi-adapter, and one of those items that every musician or audio rental company should always
have to carry in their backpack. Say goodbye to annoying jumper cables or tiny, easy to break, audio adapters!
While it does not affect the sound, its volume and characteristics in any way, and it does not work as a mixer or a patch-bay, the SurfySpider
converts the connector of one INPUT source into another connector on the OUTPUT side: mono to mono, mono to dual-mono, stereo to stereo, stereo to
dual-mono. Whatever signal comes in the INPUT, goes out in the OUTPUT.
But that's not enough. All connectors work fine with unbalanced or balanced jacks. Moreover, the SurfySpider features a convenient MUTE
button and a MONO button in case you have a stereo input signal and want to properly convert it into mono. All OUTPUT connectors work in
parallel at the same time, but only one INPUT source is allowed. As said, this is not a mixer.
The unit is completely passive, but you need a power adapter in order to use the PHONO-PREAMP with the common grounding screw, for example
to connect a turntable directly into a mixing console with a XLR rather than the RCA.
On each side of the box you can find: XLR (left + right), 1/4" jacks (left + right), 1/4" jack (stereo), 1/8" jack (stereo), RCA (left + right).
